Maybe not really an adverb, but seems to translate well as "excessively" in many cases:
e.g. 现在花钱过头, 来年就要缺钱.
Diff:
- 過頭 过头 [guo4 tou2] /to overdo it/to exaggerate/
+ 過頭 过头 [guo4 tou2] /to overdo it/to overstep the limit/excessively/above one's head/overhead/
