But yes, it's a common misconception. We have to draw the line somewhere. It's admissible to write 芸 as a shortcut for 薹, it's not to print it. I've changed all 芸 to 薹 in your subm. I've also changed the def, saying that 薹草 is Carex slightly irks me. Do you say "look at all the Carex in that field"? Or "I've eaten Brassica today"?
