<< review queue entry 34637 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> [richwarm] ABC has pinyin= dàoliǎo ----- 到了 dàoliǎo v.p. 〈topo.〉 at last; in the end; finally ---- and N has something similar ---- Are they right? Is le5 wrong? Editor: what is wrong is that this entry is a mix between "dao4 le5", an obvious construct, and "dao4 liao3" which can absolutely not be pronounced "dao4 le5". To me 到了 sounds like "in the end/when all is said and done"; "at last" seems a different meaning. But not 100% sure that this cannot be, so leaving it for the moment. |
