I think the only interest of having erhua variants in the dict should be to indicate that these forms are considered "standard", at least as much as the non-erhua'ed ones. "Standard" mandarin is not 北京話. Foreigners seem to have a strange fascination for 兒化, as if it was a major point in the language. However: for this word, PRC dicts do not seem to lay special emphasis on the erhua version, hence my decision. |
