<< review queue entry 32344 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> Is "woo" a good definition? -- Encarta says "to seek the affection or love of a woman in order to marry her (literary). " But 谈恋爱 can be done by a woman too: 哟,陈静,越来越漂亮啦!不会是谈恋爱了吧!......... and 谈恋爱 is not "(literary)". Also, "to court", in this sense, is "(dated)", according to Encarta ("We used to come here when we were courting.") Maybe "to be seeing someone" is a less dated expression. editor: We decided that "to woo" was incorrect. |
