jukuu has a few examples that show this idiom is often used when related to
death (also the context where i've found it).
人死则一了百了。
他们一死便一了百了。
一去世, 他的苦恼就一了百了了。
Diff:
+ 一了百了 一了百了 [yi1 liao3 bai3 liao3] /once the main problem is solved, all troubles are solved/death ends all one's troubles/
