It's just a literal translation of the characters, and its meaning in English is a bit ambiguous. Here is an example for "ruthless and lacking in conscience": 再加上來台後每次接客三千元計,每月偷渡四、五百人,就是二、三億的「黑心錢」。 (黑心 here refers to the human smugglers who bring mainland women to Taiwan. "Hatred and jealousy" is less of a factor here than a ruthless pursuit of profits.) MoE's def is 比喻人陰險狠毒,泯沒天良. |
