this is the correct ethnolinguistic description I think

Editor: Well, the Wp article titled 汉藏语系 corresponds to the English article "Sino-Tibetan languages." A bit of further reading* leads me to the conclusion that "family" is a more acceptable term in this context than "system," which seems like a too-literal translation of 系.

* e.g. E. Britannica @ Sino-Tibetan languages: "In terms of numbers of speakers, they comprise the world’s second largest language family (after Indo-European), ... "
