The verb needs a "to".
Also I wonder if we should expand the definition to include any of these:
- to be in close proximity (to each other)
- to deal with
- to come into contact with
- to associate with

Examples:
1 他们多年相处, 一朝分别, 不免依依不舍。
2 嘉莉从前没有和这样洒脱的人相处过。
3 跟他相处时需要一点耐心。("deal with"?)
4 宦官是負責宮廷雜事的奴僕,不得参與國家政務,但因與皇室朝夕相處,遂能博取信賴或有可乘之機,故在一些朝代中存在著宦官掌握國家政務大權的情况。
