<< review queue entry 27464 >> None of my Chinese colleagues recognise this as sandalwood - all agree it is 檀 plus I also checked the dictionary. Editor : your reasoning contains a logical flaw. What you must do is check the dict at 栴. However, I take this opportunity to replace the single character entry by the only compound in which it appears. Please be aware that Chinese natives do not master the whole range of Chinese vocabulary (that is true for any country. I could quote 16th-century French words that nobody would recognize). Even for the contemporary language, there are often wide variations in vocabulary from one area to another. |
