"丈" Actually means "Length". It's known to be said to be that's what it is in Japanese Kanji, but I pretty sure it's the same in Chinese.

Editor: indeed, it's fairly evident that Chinese is just Japanese pronounced with a queer accent.

These are ordered in order of what more likely the translation is for here, on this translation. Like I put, "Bootleg" is a very rare translation (in English) for this translation (in Chinese). Google thinks it's in the Kanji Japanese language system, but it is ALOT more translatable for the word, in Chinese. Basically, because the word here, is actually Chinese for it, somewhat.

Editor: Seems that it more commonly means pirating ~
盜錄也很盛行,但幾番轉錄,畫面、音質都會受影響;電腦卻是「數位化」資訊,既可以大量複製,又不會失真。
illegal copying of video tapes was also very common

加上盜錄問題,好萊塢新科技、技術太強,讓港片也垮掉。
Then there is the problem of pirating, not to mention the unreachable standards set by Hollywood's newest technology and special effects.

海山是國內出片最多的唱片公司,擁有的暢銷歌曲最多,遭盜錄的自然也最多。
as Haishan was the biggest and best-selling record company, it was naturally the most widely pirated.

But it can also mean "bootlegging" ~
表坊在北京長安大戲院的演出,平均每場有四件盜錄事件。
During the PW's run at Beijing's Chang An Grand Theater, theater workers caught at least four people per show trying to tape the performance without permission.
