1) Although I found one source that says you can call it either [zhao3 zi4 tou2] or [zhua3 zi4 tou2], it seems that most simply assert it's [zhao3 zi4 tou2].

2) The 爪字頭 is commonly used in characters where it's *not* a radical.
E.g. 愛, whose radical is 心, and 菜, whose radical is 艹.

I have collected a list of such descriptions of frequently-used character components. Is this interesting for the dictionary? If so, I can prepare a batch edit
------------------------------------------

Editor:
1) CC-CEDICT is a dictionary (a list of words and their definitions).
We even include bound forms (characters like 尴) that aren't standalone words.
But 爫 is neither a word nor a bound form, so it doesn't really belong.
Since we already have it, we can leave it there, however.
But I don't really want to *expand* such entries by adding extra information (such as "described as 爪字頭").

2) 爪字頭 , on the other hand, *is* a word, and we can have an entry for it (if you submit one):
爪字頭 爪字头 [zhua3 zi4 tou2] /....../
Before submitting a batch, it's a good idea to put in several single-line submissions.
If they are accepted without modification, then go ahead with a batch.

Hallo, I suggest adding FIFO for the purpose of English->Chinese search
-------------------------------

Editor: If your intention is to contribute a Chinese definition of "FIFO", this isn't the appropriate place since we aren't an English-Chinese dictionary.
You could add it to Wiktionary if you like. They do foreign-language definitions of English words.

1. Look up FIFO.
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/FIFO

2. Notice that FIFO has two different senses. Click on "first in first out" to get to the right page:
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/first_in_first_out

3. Find the "Translations" section, and click [edit].

4. Insert the following lines into the code just before the Finnish translation:

* Chinese:
*: Mandarin: {{t+|cmn|先進先出|sc=Hani}}, {{t+|cmn|先进先出|tr=xiānjìn-xiānchū|sc=Hani}}

5. Click "Publish changes".

Editor:
1) Presumably, it means the same thing in whatever field it's used, including accounting, systems theory, inventory etc.

2) We don't need to give cross-references to related terms unless they add significantly to the understanding of the current entry. As well as 後進先出, there are also terms like 先進後出 etc. that are related, but we don't need to clutter the definition with those.

3) "first in, first out" doesn't have hyphens.

could not see the "sinecure" meaning
https://www.zdic.net/hans/%E4%B9%BE%E4%BF%B8
--------------------------------------

Editor: The sinecure meaning is in the character 乾, which in this context means "empty".
乾俸 is an "empty salary", i.e. a salary paid to someone who holds a position that involves no actual work (i.e. a sinecure).

Your reference defines 乾俸 as 干薪, which MoE defines as follows:
不做事而領取的薪水。
如:「這些坐領乾薪的人,實在是阻礙社會進步的禍首。」

That's a "salary provided by a sinecure".
So both "sinecure" and "salary" are wrong.

Editor:
It's boats that "capsize"; vehicles "overturn".

It's tracks, not a rut. That's mentioned in the Baike reference: "the track of an overturned cart". But the plural form ("tracks") would be better, since we are talking about a cart rather than a unicycle.

A rut is a track that has become permanent as a result habitual wearing ("a track worn by habitual passage"). That's not the meaning of 辙 in 覆辙 -- there's no implication that carts repeatedly followed the same path so as to form ruts.

Editor: The Baike reference says it's a self-contained expression, not an adverb like "fortunately".
It also gives examples of multiple poems by Cao Cao in which the expression is used -- not just one poem.

Examples of usage where it's an allusion to Cao Cao:
这个过程中发生了很多令人难以忘记的事情,其中有一件事情,赵琳每回想起来都会觉得幸甚至哉。

所以会希望你们和亲近的人一样安好,会希望能一直给我喜欢你们的机会,回头看看,真的觉得幸甚至哉。

看极光在瑞典北部三个晚上看到了两次极光。我觉得幸甚至哉。

----------------------------

Editor: Sometimes only her surname is used in Chinese.
And when her given name *is* used, it's written in various different ways:
亞歷珊卓
阿莱克桑德哈
亚历山大
亚历山德拉

So it's probably best just to define her surname 大卫·尼尔 (the way we usually do with biographical entries for Europeans).
