Although it's absent from most general dictionaries, it appears to be a Beijing colloquialism rather than a ghost entry. 北京话儿化词典 defines 有边儿 as 有眉目，有希望 and cites this example: 王大郎这么一瞧……心说：有边儿！行啦！大功已成！ 有边儿 also has an entry in Kuraishi's dictionary, which documents many Beijing colloquialisms, with the glosses 目鼻がつく and あたりがつく. This sense is also reflected in literary examples, e.g. 听了这样的话，唐二爷心里暗想有边儿。“等到生米做成了熟饭，就由不得你不答应了。” ……有边儿了。这原只是在生活上着了另一样色彩…… Much of the evidence comes from older sources, so it's difficult to say whether it has much current usage. A dialect label seems appropriate. |
