Transom window and fanlight are useful architectural terms, but they 1) refer to only some kinds of 气窗 (see quote below), and 2) are less immediately understandable to many users than a gloss such as "ventilation window". Ex. 小時候住在發酵室旁，看著父親與師傅半夜起來照顧菌種的鍾政衛說，發酵期必須歷時7天、24小時監督，夏天太熱要把氣窗打開，冬天得蓋上麻布，或者打開烤爐，讓溫度保持在攝氏40度上下。 |
