I asked about this word here: https://chinese.stackexchange.com/q/61502/8099

I'm not familiar with these video games, but I suppose I know a bit about
Japanese culture and will offer my opinion:

- "ガチャ" - in my mind, these are those vending machines that dispense toys,
or they are the toys themselves. Though perhaps it's more common nowadays to
refer to "gacha video games", which involve a lottery mechanic and element of
randomness when getting in-game items. I know they are quite popular in China.
- "卡池" - 卡 is card, 池 is pool, 卡池 is like a deck of cards. It is not
necessarily related to ガチャ (as someone pointed out on stackexchange), for
example, people use it to talk about Pokemon cards

> Pokémon TCG Pocket 新卡池帶來了更多戰術變化,尤其是夢幻 EX與時拉比 EX的加入

Anyways I think there's no overlap between the meaning of ガチャ and 卡池. 卡池
may be found in a gacha game but it's not correct to define it as ガチャ
Diff:
# 卡池 卡池 [[ka3 chi2]] /gacha (loanword from Japanese ガチャ); gacha pool; character or weapon banner (in a gacha game)/
# Editor:
+ 卡池 卡池 [[ka3chi2]] /deck of cards (in a trading card game)/(ACG) pool; banner (collection of in-game items players draw from in a gacha video game)/
