<< review queue entry 81662 - submitted by 'agedits' >> It's tai4yang2 (tàiyánɡ) in 牛津英汉汉英词典 / Oxford Chinese Dictionary and also in Revised Mandarin Chinese Dictionary, Taiwan Academic Network Version, Ministry of Education. Also, I think it's not THE abbreviation for temple, to a degree it needs to be referenced, since there's many other words that start with 太阳 (suncake, sun window, sun lamp, solar wind etc) ? -------------------------- Editor: It doesn't matter how many words start with 太阳. What matters is whether they get abbreviated to 太阳. 太阳穴 does. E.g. a) ”然后让程晓羽的头靠在自己的胸脯上,开始温柔的按压他的太阳,并俏皮的问道:“舒服吗?” b) 最后那一句话,让这协警的两边太阳上的青筋一下就鼓暴了起来,... ... but not 太阳窗 (sun window) etc. The "temple" sense is included in the definition of 太阳 of various dictionaries, including New Century, which is the source from which the abridged definitions in the Oxford Chinese Dictionary were derived. It's also in 國語辭典, published by the other authority you mentioned (Taiwan's Ministry of Education), defined as 太陽穴的簡稱. 太阳 can be pronounced with or without the neutral tone. |
