Editor: You are proposing that the pinyin for his name should be written as "Mǎkě · Bōluó", but I believe it should be "Mǎkě Bōluó", as it is in the following references:

https://mandarinsegments.blogspot.com/2014/01/saddle-up-for-year-of-horse.html
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Marco_Polo_Square?uselang=zh-mo

The middle dot is used in Chinese character text because there are no spaces between words, but in pinyin text there *are* spaces between words.
Diff:
- 馬可波羅 马可波罗 [Ma3 ke3 Bo1 luo2] /Marco Polo (1254-c. 1324), Venetian trader and explorer who traveled the Silk road to China, author of Il Milione (Travels of Marco Polo)/
# + 馬可·波羅 马可·波罗 [[Ma3ke3 · Bo1luo2]] /Marco Polo (1254-c. 1324), Venetian trader and explorer who traveled the Silk road to China, author of Il Milione (Travels of Marco Polo)/
