Among my dictionaries, it's in the Taiwan ones (GR, M, LA, FE) – but it's not in (mainland-based) GF, for example. LA ~ 國家或社會辦的收養老人的機構。也作「安養院」、「老人院」、「敬老院」、「養老院」。 Wiktionary says it's "(Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore)". https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%AE%89%E8%80%81%E9%99%A2 And it's in the ABC Cantonese dictionary: on1 lou5 jyun6/2 安老院 N. home for snr. citizens, old folks home, retirement home NA just says it's "方". Anyway, it doesn't seem to be a term in common use throughout the mainland. |
