But most of the usage I found was about giving extra shows -- not about giving an encore at the end of a show. I didn't come across any usage where it was specifically about giving an encore in response to applause at the end of a show. 3) However, I did find a couple of examples where it was not about giving extra shows. But even there, it was an element inserted into the show, rather than an encore at the end in response to enthusiastic applause. Here are the two examples: a) 李永豐聽到就說要加演這段故事。 When Lee read this, he decided to include it in the story the troupe was enacting. b) LA @ 跳加官 傳統戲曲開場或演出中加演的舞蹈節目。 (K @ 跳加官: "dance performed at the beginning of a performance by a ...") * * * Examples for "to put on extra shows; to extend the run (of a show)" 許多人建議《阿Ｑ正傳》加演， Seeing that the audience's reaction was very enthusiastic, many people recommended that they extend Ah-Q's run. 曾在美、加演出不少場次， promoted Taiwan music in America for many years, and frequently performed there, 買不到票的觀眾紛紛要求加演，於是在演出一個月之後，又加演了半個月。 Demand for tickets was so great that after a month they had to extend the run by another two weeks. 要求加演， demanded that the sponsors stage extra shows 得利又與國賓影城商議加演二星期，依然熱絡。 Their run at the Breeze Center's Ambassador Theaters was extended for several weeks. |
