I prefer to leave it as [si4] because the 茅廁 entry tells you it can be qingsheng in that word (in the PRC, at any rate), just as the entry for 商量 tells you 量 is qingsheng. We don't include an entry for 量[liang5] just because we have 商量[shang1 liang5]. Meanwhile, at least one Taiwan dictionary gives [mao2 si4] as the Tw pr. (which sounds very plausible). Making the change you suggest would make the full tone information unavailable in CEDICT to Taiwan users. |
