<< review queue entry 40377 - submitted by 'ycandau' >> a complicated situation 1) 輓 is simplified to 挽 2) 輓 does share some senses with 挽 (Z, M) 3) def: -seen more as a verb (lament) than noun (elegy); we do have 挽歌 etc, makes it clear. -no need for "lead(animal)" nor for "(scroll)" tag -"to turn (change direction)" is unenlightening, pleonasmic and wrong. The intended target is 挽救 and such; it's only in the English that "turn" appears (to turn the tide). The Chinese sounds more like "pull back". -"carry on the arm" was missing; I see no other way to say it. 挽着她的胳膊。(well, doesn't fit too much) 胳膊上挽着个菜篮。 |
