Thanks for the word. 2. I don't think "grading test" is a well-recognized term. Google results: "take a grading test" - 5,890 results "take a level test" - 1,440,000 results "take a grade exam" - 133,000 results 3. In the field of music, for the noun sense, "grade exam" seems to be far more usual than "grading test". People write things like - "By taking and passing a grade exam, you get an idea of where you are at on the spectrum of piano playing competence." - "When you take a grade exam you have pieces you have to prepare, and you are also expected to sight-read ..." If you Google { piano take "grading test" }, on the first page of results you get stuff like - Piano Grading Test in Eastern China - Grading Test Pieces for Piano (With CD 2016) (Chinese Edition) - Piano Grading Test - Kevin Lee 4/22/2018 - YouTube - seeing a large increase in Chinese students taking the grading test, ... which leads me to suspect that "grading test" is Chinglish for "grade exam". |
