You can go through the ups and downs of life and come through it all with a positive outlook, or you can become world-weary (i.e. with a negative or jaded attitude), but the word 滄桑感 itself doesn't tell you anything about one's attitude to the world. It just tells you there is a sense of having been through a lot. Here are a couple of examples. There is no connotation of world-weariness in them. 帶著江湖人滄桑感的歌喉。 whose unique voice gives people a sense of depth of experience 喜歡老房子「滄桑感與歲月刻痕」的他， He has a fondness for old buildings because “you can sense they have been through good times and bad, and they bear the marks and scars of time.” |
