<< review queue entry 63863 - submitted by 'monigeria' >> This is a bit of a hard one to define. https://chinese.stackexchange.com/q/33133/4136 q: Documentation of 不+“x” contractions resulting in “r” sounding initial consonant? a: 不知道 (bù zhī dào) → 不儿道 (bùr rào) also one comment on the page: 不知道 sometimes reads bu ri dao, even bu rao, as well as that 告诉你 reads as gaor ni, and 就这样 reads as jiu zhang. – 賈可 Jacky Mar 6 at 4:57 wiki: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%8C%97%E4%BA%AC%E8%AF%9D 例如:“不知道” /pu51 ʈ͡ʂɨ55 tao51/0-2/在北京話中變為 「不兒道」/puɻ55 tao51/ I've kept the main pinyin as standard as possible and I've added my best attempt at pinyin-izing these colloquial pronunciations in the definition. ----------------------------------- Editor: In my opinion, for this type of entry, we need someone with expertise in Chinese phonetics to process. I am not such a person, and nobody else has stepped forward to process in the two years since this was submitted. I'll do my best now, but I hope I don't have to deal with this sort of thing again. It's hard to find reliable sources for contracted forms. And there are sometimes multiple contracted pronunciations for a word, which makes things even more complicated. The prospect of checking all these pronunciations is not something I'd enjoy doing. No video/audio samples were provided in this submission, and even if they were, I wouldn't be the best person to transcribe them into pinyin. Wikipedia mentions examples like 中央電視台, which is apparently sometimes pronounced like 裝墊兒台. I think this whole area is outside of what we can reasonably deal with. Regarding 不儿道, I've gone with the pronunciation given in the quoted Wikipedia article: /puɻ55 tao51/ So I've used 1st tone (55) for 不儿 instead of 4th tone (51). |
