Been thinking about this one for a while. At first I was leaning towards “joke” as a definition but it seems “meme” is more appropriate.

Moegirl confirms this:
https://m.moegirl.org/zh-hant/Meme
Meme(國際音標 IPA:/miːm/),可以認為是「梗」的同義詞。
Diff:
- 梗 梗 [geng3] /branch/stem/stalk/CL:根[gen1]/to block/to hinder/(Tw) interesting, fresh, or amusing subject matter or scenario/
# + 梗 梗 [geng3] /branch/stem/stalk/CL:根[gen1]/to block/to hinder/(Tw) interesting, fresh, or amusing subject matter or scenario/(Internet slang) meme/
#
+ 梗 梗 [geng3] /branch/stem/stalk/CL:根[gen1]/to block/to hinder/(neologism that evolved from 哏[gen2], initially in Taiwan, during the first decade of the 21st century) memorable creative idea (joke, catchphrase, meme, neologism, witty remark etc)/prominent feature of a creative work (punchline of a joke, trope in a drama, special ingredient in a dish, riff in a pop song etc)/
