2) "closure" is technically correct, apparently, but it isn't a helpful definition since "closure of a bridge" usually means it can't be used (it's closed to traffic), whereas the meaning here is that the bridge is *completed* (by linking the two halves in the middle).
3) NC ~ v. close (a dam, dyke etc built from two ends); join the two sections of a bridge
Diff:
- 合龍 合龙 [he2 long2] /closure (civil engineering)/join of segments to complete a project (dam, bridge, dike etc)/
+ 合龍 合龙 [he2 long2] /to join the two sections (of a linear structure: bridge, dike etc) to complete its construction/
