1. "the medial and final sound of a syllable"
That's a misconception because a medial is part of a final.
* Wiktionary's definition of "final" - (phonology) The final part of a syllable, the combination of medial and rime in phonetics and phonology.
* "the final (of a syllable), e.g. -uan in huan" [quote from YR Chao]

2. I have reworked the rest of the definition, based on LA mainly.
e.g. I put "beautiful sound" at the end.

- 韻 韵 [yun4] /beautiful sound/appeal/charm/vowel/rhyme/in Chinese phonetics, the medial and final sound of a syllable (i.e. excluding the initial consonant)/
