"to enter the world" is misleading.
Usually means "to be born".
e.g. "Happy 50th birthday Julian Lennon! He entered the world as the son of John and Cynthia Lennon. He is the first child born to any of the Beatles."
I don't think that was the intended sense in this entry.

入世 doesn't mean 'to be born' in the following examples.

They provide a record of how religion has turned from withdrawing from the world to engaging it.

Taiwan's various religions have recently been embracing religious dialogue and shifting their focus from withdrawing from the world to engagement with it.

(Caotholic orders)
Orders can also be divided into those that withdraw from the world and those that go into the world to serve.

The saying goes that those who involve themselves in human affairs are Confucianists, while those who renounce the world are Daoists. But in Chen Ku-ying's view, "Those who involve themselves in society have an even greater need for Laozi's ideas."

Their drinking bouts and sleepless nights can surely not have been unconnected with the many difficulties they faced whether they chose to withdraw from the world of politics, or to get involved.
Diff:
- 入世 入世 [ru4 shi4] /to join the WTO/to enter the world/secular/
+ 入世 入世 [ru4 shi4] /to engage with secular society/to involve oneself in human affairs/to join the WTO (abbr. for 加入世界貿易組織|加入世界贸易组织[jia1 ru4 Shi4 jie4 Mao4 yi4 Zu3 zhi1])/
