you know 丑 means ugly, right? This might have been confused with a romanized spelling of the last name '周' ('zhou', or more commonly spelled as 'Chou').

I don't think anyone would want to call them or their child ugly.

You realize this is a surname, not a given name, right?

Lots of people have surnames like Butt and Dick.

The world is full of things that seem unlikely but are true.
