Chinese restaurant staff jailed for cooking with ‘gutter oil’

From https://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/2091125/chinese-restaurant-staff-jailed-cooking-gutter-oil
-----------------------------------

Editor: I don't think that's a widely recognized English term. It's more like Chinglish, a direct translation of 地沟油. That's why they put quote marks around it in the headline you quoted.
Diff:
# - 地溝油 地沟油 [di4 gou1 you2] /cooking oil that has been used and discarded (and, in China, sometimes illegally recovered from gutters and sewers, reprocessed and sold back to restaurants)/
# + 地溝油 地沟油 [di4 gou1 you2] /gutter oil/cooking oil that has been used and discarded (and, in China, sometimes illegally recovered from gutters and sewers, reprocessed and sold back to restaurants)/
